The Fédération nationale des enseignantes et des enseignants du Québec (FNEEQ) has 100 affiliated unions, which represent nearly 34,000 members in 46 CEGEPs, 43 private institutions (including colleges), and thousands of members at 13 universities: 11 unions of lecturers; the Association of Graduate Students Employed at McGill and the tutors at Télé-Université. FNEEQ covers all levels of teaching in both the public and private sectors. It is the most representative union organization for higher learning in Quebec.
Le Conseil central du Montréal métropolitain (CCMM-CSN) unites all members of the CSN in the metropolitan Montreal area, Laval and Northern, representing more than 92,000 workers working in all sectors, such as construction, health and social services, communications, metallurgy, forestry, paper, utilities, education and trade, spreading across some 400 unions.
Confédération des syndicats nationaux (CSN) – the parent organization – comprises all the local unions of different sectors, 8 federations and the conseil central in 13 regions.
